The Katrina Chronicles
If you are looking for the Blogging in Biloxi package of bloggerage, the easiest way to find it is to click on the September 2005 archive and scroll your way up the posts. My first post on going to Biloxi was on Sept. 18.
But if you're in a hurry, and I had to choose only one series of posts, I'd select my posts on Ocean Springs, Miss. Here are the links in chronological order:
- Posts from Ocean Springs tonight: Introduction, with one cool photo
- Welcome to Ocean Springs: Background on the town and its bridges
- The bridge that outsmarted Camille: But it didn't outsmart Katrina
- Out to sea: The yacht club's "remodeling"
- Beauty and the Beast: Photos of the Gulf, versus what it can do when provoked
- Along the beach: Meeting my tour guide, Jean
- The fishmonger: Beach market washed away
- Two views, one pile of rubble: My photos from the ground, compared to photos from the air
- The Destruction Variety-Pak: The many ways a hurricane can destroy a beach home
- Thanks a yacht: Boats seldom stay in the water during a hurricane
But I'd also want to cheat and point you to my posts on Biloxi itself:
- At First Presbyterian Church, Biloxi: A study in contrasts
- Photos around town: Away from the beach, the damage is less severe, but widespread
- Photos from Beach Boulevard: The main road, swept clean
- Devastation in Biloxi: Incredible damage downtown
- Assorted and sundry photos: Bridges, boats and garages
Thanks, and your comments are always welcome.
